Terms of Use
These terms set out the rules for using Seekrs. Please read them before creating an account or booking a hike.
Last updated: 5 July 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Seekrs at seekrs.io (the "Service"), operated by Seekrs Platform Ltd ("Seekrs", "we", "us", "our"). Seekrs Platform Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17286746). Registered office: 167-169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London, England, W1W 5PF.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Seekrs.
2. What Seekrs is
Seekrs is a platform that connects hikers with group outdoor events and helps organisers publish hikes, manage bookings, and communicate with their community.
Organisers, not Seekrs, plan and lead hikes. We do not guarantee the safety, quality, or accuracy of any hike. Participation in outdoor activities involves inherent risk.
For paid hikes, your contract for the hike itself is with the organiser. Seekrs acts as the organiser’s limited payment collection agent: paying Seekrs for a ticket fully discharges your payment obligation to the organiser for that booking.
3. Accounts
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your login details secure and notify us if you suspect unauthorised access.
- Use one account per person unless we agree otherwise.
- Be at least 13 years old to create an account (or the minimum age required in your country if higher).
4. Hikers
When you book a hike you agree that:
- You are responsible for your own fitness, equipment, and safety on the day.
- You will follow the organiser’s reasonable instructions and any cancellation rules shown for that hike.
- Some groups require you to accept their waiver or terms before booking; those are between you and the organiser.
- Booking confirms your spot when shown as confirmed in the app; organiser check-in may use your ticket on the day.
- For paid hikes, your spot is held while you complete payment (typically for up to 30 minutes) and is only confirmed once payment succeeds. If payment is not completed in time, the hold is released and the spot may go to someone else.
5. Organisers
If you publish hikes or host a group you agree that:
- You are responsible for planning, leading, and communicating about your events.
- Information you publish (times, location, difficulty, capacity) must be accurate and kept up to date.
- You comply with applicable laws, land access rules, insurance expectations, and safety standards for your activities.
- Your group waiver or terms are your responsibility; Seekrs provides tools to display them but does not provide legal advice.
- You will treat hikers fairly and respond to booking-related issues promptly.
- To sell paid hikes you must set up payouts with Stripe and accept the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. Ticket revenue (minus any refunds) is paid out to your connected Stripe account; Seekrs keeps the booking fee shown to hikers at checkout.
- When a hiker cancels within the cancellation window, we refund the ticket price only; that ticket amount is recovered from your connected account and the Seekrs booking fee is kept by Seekrs. If you cancel a hike, each paid hiker receives a full refund including the Seekrs booking fee; the ticket amount is recovered from your connected account and Seekrs refunds the booking fee portion to the hiker.
- You appoint Seekrs as your limited payment collection agent to accept payment from hikers on your behalf; a hiker’s payment to Seekrs discharges their payment obligation to you.
- You are responsible for your own tax affairs, including any income tax or VAT due on ticket revenue you receive.
6. Bookings and cancellations
Booking rules, cancellation policies, and capacity limits are set per hike and shown before you book. Some hikes are non-cancellable or have a cancellation cutoff (for example, up to 24 hours before the start) — this is shown on the hike page before you book. We may modify booking features as the product evolves; we will not intentionally remove confirmed bookings without notice except where required for safety, legal reasons, or platform abuse.
7. Payments, fees, and refunds
Some hikes are free. For paid hikes, the total price you pay — the organiser’s ticket price plus the Seekrs booking fee — is shown wherever a price is displayed and again before you confirm payment. The minimum ticket price is £5. The booking fee is tiered at £1 per £20 of ticket price (for example, £1 on a £20 ticket and £2 on a £21 ticket). Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). The breakdown is shown before you pay.
Card payments are processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your full card details. Charges appear as Seekrs on your statement. The ticket amount goes to the hike organiser; Seekrs keeps the booking fee.
If you cancel your booking within the hike’s cancellation window, we refund the ticket price only. The Seekrs booking fee is non-refundable when you cancel, unless we say otherwise or the law requires it. Hikes marked non-cancellable are not refundable if you cancel or do not attend.
If the organiser cancels the hike, you receive a full refund of everything you paid, including the Seekrs booking fee.
Refunds go back to your original payment method and usually take 5–10 business days to appear on your statement.
Because hikes take place on a specific date, the statutory 14-day “cooling-off” cancellation right for distance contracts does not apply to hike bookings (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulation 28(1)(h)). This does not affect the cancellation rights described above or your other statutory rights.
If something went wrong with a paid booking, contact us at hello@seekrs.io and we will work with you and the organiser to put it right.
8. Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, or misleading purposes.
- Harass, abuse, or impersonate others.
- Post false hike listings or scrape the Service without permission.
- Attempt to bypass security or access others’ accounts or data.
- Use the Service in a way that could damage Seekrs or other users.
9. Content
You retain ownership of content you upload (photos, text, group branding). You grant Seekrs a non-exclusive licence to host, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate the Service (for example, showing your hike on seekrs.io and in emails to booked hikers).
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms or harm the community.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Seekrs is not liable for the acts or omissions of organisers or other users, or for injury, loss, or damage arising from outdoor activities booked through the platform except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
11. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
Subject to that, our total liability to you for claims arising from the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) £100 or (b) the amount you paid us for the Service in that period (if any).
12. Termination
You may stop using Seekrs at any time and may delete your account in settings where available. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if needed to protect the platform. Provisions that should survive termination (including disclaimers and liability limits) will survive.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence where applicable.
